Courtesy Visit to the Bureau of Customs

On May 28, 2026, NordCham paid a courtesy visit to the Bureau of Customs to formally introduce the organization, present its upcoming initiatives, and explore opportunities for future collaboration on shared programs and activities.

NordCham Executive Director Axel Fries was warmly welcomed by Dr. Siegfred L. Manois, Special Deputy Collector and Irene Moreno-Concio, Assistant Special Deputy Collector of the Bureau of Customs. 

Dr. Manaois discussed the Enhanced Trade Facilitation Program of the Port of NAIA, one of the major flagship initiatives of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno and directly implemented by District Collector Atty. Maria Yasmin M. Obillos-Mapa.

Representatives from Defense Expo PHL also joined the discussion to introduce the upcoming Nordic Philippines Strategic Defense Alliance Summit 2027. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the necessary requirements and coordination efforts needed to ensure the successful staging of the event.
